Tribal School Education Programme
At the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve, where ANCF and CES have found able trackers and assistants among its tribal community, the institutions formally set up the Tribal School Education Programme (TSEP) in November 2007. The primary objective of TSEP is to augment the existing educational efforts of the government in tribal schools and improve the science, conservation and general cognitive skills of children. With generous funds from the Levinson Grant, the foundation through its volunteers is directly involved in teaching, supplying stationery materials and school uniforms. It also contributes towards improvements to the infrastructural facilities at these schools.
TSEP has generated a high degree of motivation and enthusiasm amongst the students. It has also sensitised school teachers on the different capacities and talents of children, besides encouraging them to explore innovative teaching methodologies in the classroom.
