Crop raiding frequencies in 14 settlements are being monitored intensively through active local participation. Simultaneously, data on factors that are likely to influence conflict levels within the study settlements are also being collected. These include elephant density, rainfall, vegetation and type and biomass of crops grown. The centre is also constantly evaluating the present mitigation methods in the study area.
